Planning Skills - Development Viability

Success means achieving the delivery of great places with a higher level of certainty for developers and Planning Authorities alike. It also avoids re-opening negotiation after permission granted that delay or thwart delivery of a plan led system. Making and keeping sites viable requires a shared understanding of:

  • the motivations for developing;
  • commercial considerations;
  • transparent approaches to viability assessment; and
  • the implications for the viability of development associated with interventions made through the planning system.
